Daily Reminders
• A reminder to students that you are not to be hanging out behind the school during lunch. You are to stay in supervised areas which means you do not go beyond the Grade 8 wing when outside. This also means you are not to be hanging out in the Grade 8 Exit Door area either.
• Students are also reminded that food from the cafeteria and school lunch program is to be eaten inside the school and not to take food outside. There is an enormous amount of garbage outside currently – no doubt some may have blown there over the winter, but most are items that come from students.
• Please stay off the MacLeod Field (Heather Avenue) until further notice.
School Reach – Grade 7/8 School Reach will happen tomorrow (Tuesday) at noon in the Grade 7 science lab for anyone who is interested. Please bring your lunch.
Band – Grade 8 and Grade 9 band students are asked to bring their signed Band Days permission forms to Mrs. Sorensen during the morning break
Drama Club – The drama club will be going to the Carrefour Centre on Tuesday afternoon April 14 for a drama workshop. Students are expected to have their Permission slips returned either to Sarah in the office or to Mr. Coleman. No permission slips signed and returned means that you will not be able to attend the session. Thank you to all staff for allowing your students to attend.
There will be a quick meeting in Mr. Coleman’s room at morning break today. Please make every effort to attend! With teachers' permission, if the group involved with The Last Cupcake Fight, please meet Mr. Coleman in the cafeteria.
Bake Sale - on Thursday, there will be a Bake Sale in support of our Easter Seals campaign. We are looking for donations of cookies, brownies, cupcakes and other baked goods for Thursday from students, staff and families. Donations must be nut free and can be dropped off in the Foods Lab this week.
Student Council - there will be a meeting at lunch today with pizza for all student council members.
Spring Volleyball - girls practice tonight from 5-6:30 and the boys go after from 6:30-8 pm.
Table Tennis Tournament - last chance to sign up outside the Fit Pit is today! The tournament will start on Wednesday, and there are still a few spots to be filled.
Track and Field – The Track Team is getting organized. Any student interested in participating with this year’s track team can sign up using the sign-up sheets located outside the physical literacy centre. More details coming soon for training.
Flag Football – Any grade 9 girls interested in trying out for our flag football team, please sign up at the bulletin board by the gymnasium.
