Week One - Wednesday, May 6

Daily Reminders
•    When students are outside at lunchtime they are reminded to use appropriate language.
•    If students are in the bowl, it is to play soccer, walk the track or just hang out – no rough play is to take place including rolling down the hill.
•    Please look at the Lost and Found table – take only things that are yours. 
•    Ms. MacKinnon reminded everyone recently about phones being in your lockers during class time, we also have to remind you that when you do have your phone at break or lunch, you are not to be taking pictures. If you need your cellphone to call someone, you are to do that in the Phone Zone by the main doors.
•    Once again, we ask students and staff not to wear perfumes or heavily scented deodorants

Earl’s Earwig Hockey Pool – After the first round in our player pool, we have Owen Roberts, grade 7 in 1st with 45 points, Ethan Affleck, grade 9 in 2nd with 43 points, and Maxim McGarry, grade 8 in 3rd with 42 points.

Gauss Math – Grade seven students will have their last Gauss practice session on Thursday, period 1, in the cafeteria. Students are reminded to check in with their period one teacher before coming to the cafeteria. Please come prepared with a pencil, paper, and calculator. 

Jazz Band – Rehearsal today after school until 4:00

Drama Club – The drama club will be meeting at 1230 in the lobby to attend the drama festival at Carrefour theatre. Teachers, please excuse these students for the afternoon. We will be back in time for dismissal. 

Mr Coleman would like to Thank all teachers for being understanding as he goes through the learning process of offering a drama program for students.

Softball – There will be a girls softball tryout today from 3:15-4:30 at Mulberry Field.

Track and Field – The track team is training today and tomorrow, after school in the bowl. The session ends at 4:15. 

Girls “A” Flag Football – In a back-and-forth competitive game that saw both teams hold a lead, our Tier 2 Tigers were defeated 15-12 by Grace Christian. In the second game, our Girls overcame a 6-0 halftime deficit to defeat Belfast 7-6. This game came down to the very last play with a defensive stop. All Girls contributed on offence and defense and improved throughout both games. Well done, Tigers!

Our Tier 1 Tigers opened their season being defeated 18-6 by Morell. However, in game two, our Girls rebounded with an impressive 27-12 victory over Souris. Our offence moved the football very well, and our defense was stellar by recording five interceptions. Great effort and bounce back, Girls!      

There will be a flag football practice for both A and AA girls out on MacLeod Field on Heather Ave after school today from 3-4:30pm.

Disc Golf Club - practice today from 3-4:15. All disc golf club members please meet in the gym after school.

Table Tennis Tournament - finals are today with Gabe vs Owen in the tier 2 final, Sam vs Kamsy in the tier 1 3rd place match, and Mason vs Aubrey in the tier 1 championship final. The games room and gym will be closed at lunch and all students are encouraged to fill the gym bleachers today to watch!
