Week One - Monday, April 8

Gauss Math – Grade 7 students who have been recommended for the Gauss Math Competition that will occur in May, will have their first practice session on Wednesday of this week during the first period. Please bring a sharpened pencil, a piece of loose leaf, and a calculator if you can. Grade 8s will be holding their first practice soon. They are to bring the same materials.

Heritage Fair – would the following students meet Mrs. Burry in the lobby right after announcements…. Emily Lupish, Isabelle Russell, and Isabella Massey.

Reach for the Top – would any Grade 7 students who would like to play Reach for the Top against Souris Regional students (via Google Meet) on Wednesday at lunch time, please put your name on the yellow paper outside Mrs. Burry’s office window. 

Treats for Easter Seals – Today, some Grade 7 students will be selling treats in the cafeteria Bagel Barn at both morning break and lunch, and all profits will go to the Easter Seals Campaign! Chocolate milk will be sold for just $1 – that’s half the price as it is in the vending machine! Or, you can have a large glass of pop for a dollar, or a cup of popcorn for just $0.50! 

Intramurals – The gym will be open for badminton again this week at lunchtime.  Grade 7/9 are allowed today.  8/9 on Tuesday.  

Badminton – No badminton team practice today.  If you have forms or money, bring it to the gym at morning break.  

Art Club – There will no Art Club today at lunch time.

Tutoring - Tomorrow after school, 3:30 - 5:00

Core French Trip – Students going to Summerside tomorrow, please bring a lunch. 

EAL Segment – Today in our EAL segment we will talk about Honduras! We will start by sharing with you some facts about its population and territory: the population registered in 2023 was 10,593,798 and it has a territory of 112,492 km2. Honduras is bordered by Guatemala, Nicaragua, and El Salvador. It’s encompasses eight different ecoregions and 60 terrestrial and coastal marine ecosystems, including several wetlands important for conservation, such as the Chamelecón-Ulua, Motagua and Aguan rivers, the Moskitia wetland system, the Gulf of Fonseca and several smaller systems and waterbodies, mainly on the Atlantic slope and the islands.
