Friday - Day 1

Cafeteria:
Cafeteria services are available.

Band:
Grade 8 Saxophone players will meet today at 12:15 in the band room

Terry Fox Run:
A big thank you to all students and staff who donated to the Terry Fox Research Fund as we surpassed our goal of $1000 and raised a whopping $1217.30 for Terry Fox!

Lost and Found:
We want to remind students that lost and found items are collected in the large grey bin by the cafeteria door, and that those items belong to certain students. You only take what belongs to you! Those items will be put on display every few weeks for students to claim their own items.

Cross Country Team:

Congratulations to the Stonepark Cross Country team who had a strong finish yesterday at the Provincial Championships. The individual results are as follows:

Bantam Girls (Grades 7 & 8)

Lucy Fraser - 8th

Elayna Veinot - 26th

Maya Cardoso - 30th

Bantam Boys (Grades 7 & 8)

Colin Headley - 11th

Carter Campbell - 27th

These are strong finishes amongst the best runners in the province. Well done.

Boys AA Soccer:
AA boys' soccer lost 2-1 yesterday to Queen Charlotte.  2 quick first half goals was all it took for Queen Charlotte to defeat the Tigers yesterday afternoon.  Strong defense from Nick Neitz, Andrew MacDonald and Kyan Court kept the Queen Charlotte attack at bay until Joseph Clements broke through to notch his second goal of the season late in the second half to make the score close.  Next game is Tuesday at home to East Wiltshire.

Girls AA Soccer:

The Girls AA team played one of their best games of the season against Queen Charlotte yesterday, and ended with a 1-1 tie. In the first half, Rosa Coles made a beautifully placed pass to Sophie Gallant, who was at the top of the 18-yard box, and Sophie buried the ball in the back of the net with a beautiful top-shelf goal! Jessica Connelly held us in the lead in the first half with many great saves. We had great offensive and defensive play by all team members. The tigers had many scoring chances, but just couldn't quite find the back of the net. Jessa Gaudette played an incredible second half in net, and made several key saves to keep the tigers at a 1-1 tie. We will pick up next week with a practice Tuesday, after school."

Girls A Soccer:
The girls A soccer team continued their UNDEFEATED season last night with another 3-2 win over gulf shore. Goal scorers were Addison Hughes, Lily Craig and Callie Delaney. Other noteable players include Lilly Kennedy, Nargiz Amiri, Riley Duguay and Emma Arnett.  All players put forth their best effort and played extremely well.

Boys AA Volleyball:
The boys AA volleyball game lost a tough game to East Wiltshire last night by a score of 3 sets to 1. All players rallied and played hard, but could not manage to get past a strong Warriors team. The boys team is asked to meet in Mr. Roche's room at morning break in downstairs grade 9 to discuss the tournament tomorrow. Also, staff are asked to check their email today, as Mr. Roche is asking for help with volunteers for the Kevin Campbell classic who could sign up to work the door for an hour. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and it would be a great chance to see our boys team in action!

Field Hockey:

The field hockey team is quietly having a great season.  They had another win last night, 3-0 over Queen Charlotte.  Goal scorers were Bella Fitzpatrick with two goals and Haylee MacDonald.  Another shutout for Kaelyn Doyle.  They play two games at the Cornwall turf tonight at 5 and 6. Bring.  Good luck girls.

 Kevin Campbell Memorial Volleyball Tournament:
The Kevin Campbell Memorial Volleyball Tournament is going on today.  If you are interested in coming in and watching, the schedule will be posted by the gym.  The A girls play tonight and the AA boys play on Saturday.  Finals will be at 4:15 for both A girls and AA boys on Saturday.  Come out an support your Tigers Volleyball players.
