Week One - Wednesday, April 24

Table Tennis – The Stonepark Table Tennis tournament will begin today at lunch! The 24 students who signed their names up all must meet in the wellness room at morning break today to discuss the tournament rules, setup, and schedule.

Coding Club – Coding Club will meet today and Friday during lunch in Mrs. Reynard’s room (upstairs, Grade 9). Students are welcome to bring their lunch.

Band News – No Jazz Band after school today
•    Grade 9 band students who have medical forms and permission forms to hand in for the band trip are asked to bring the papers to Mrs. Sorensen following the announcements 
•    Hasitha, Mitchell and Seamus are asked to go to the band room for a quick meeting following the announcements. 
•    Good luck to the Grade 9 Concert Band as they travel to Halifax on Thursday to perform in the Atlantic Festival of Music!

Green Team – A huge shout out to everyone who helped make the Yard Clean Up a success! Those who participated did an amazing job, and Stonepark grounds are now looking incredibly clean and litter free, thanks to you!!! Let’s keep it this way! Some interesting finds were signs, a car tire and the most interesting find… a lobster trap! Please if you are outside on lunch, use the bins at the entrance of the school or the bin in the gazebo to throw out your garbage.

Intramurals – The gym will be open to grade 7/9's today at lunchtime.  Tomorrow, Thursday will only be grade 8's in half the gym.  

Flag Football – Lots of flag tryouts still going on today.

Gauss Math – there will be a practice for the Grade 7 Gauss math competition first period this morning – please bring all your materials

Heritage Fair – All students who are going to the Heritage Fair are to go to Mr. Acorn’s classroom at 12:15 today for last minute details before the Provincial Fair next week. 

Reach for the Top – there will be Reach for the Top club tomorrow, Thursday at noon – bring your lunch. Ms. Burry has some exciting news about a provincial tournament and Nationals.

EAL Segment - Today we will talk about one of China's traditional foods.
● One of China's favorite foods is Kung Pao, a tasty twist on chicken. It's got a mix of savory and sweet flavors with a bit of a spicy kick. Peanuts add a nice nutty taste. It's a bit spicy because of the chilies and special peppercorns, but you can make it less spicy by using fewer spicy things.
