A HUGE congratulations to the Grade 9 Concert Band on their EXCEPTIONAL performance at the Atlantic Festival of Music last Wednesday. The Band was awarded a GOLD standing for their performance!!! The music festival adjudicators selected the band for a special award – a bursary for the UPEI Summer School of Music that will take place this July. The students were excellent representatives of our school and lots of great memories were made.
Heritage Fair – Congratulations to all 15 students who represented Stonepark at the heritage fair on Thursday. Honorable mention goes out to Amalia Barbosa, Alexander Higgins, and AJ MacDonald for being recognized with awards. Also, congratulations to Amalia Barbosa and Arina Makelska for placing in the top 15 for overall projects. Well done, Tigers!
Drama Club – will be having their last rehearsal on Tuesday (tomorrow) after school! Students will meet at 3pm in the cafeteria and you all should be prepared to stay until 430. Please note the extra 30 minutes. Please go over your scripts.
Flag Football – The AA Boys and AA Girls Flag Football teams play their first games of the season this evening.
The AA Boys play their games at Francois Buote field:
Game times are: 5:30 vs. Queen Charlotte #2 and again at 6:20 vs. Birchwood
The AA Girls kick off their season at the Terry Fox Complex in Cornwall
Game times are: 4:45 vs. Montague and 5:35 against Queen Charlotte
There will be a meeting for the AA girls Flag Football team in the Fit Pit today during morning break.
All “A” Girls Flag Football players are asked to meet with Mr. Bradley at the start of morning break in the lobby.
Softball – There will be a girls softball tryout on Tuesday and Wednesday this week from 3:15-4:30 at Mulberry Field.
School Reach will happen tomorrow for Grades 7 and 8 as usual at noon time. Bring your lunch to the science lab in House 7 for a fun game of trivia.
Students going to the Nationals will be doing a “Guess the number of Candy in the Jar” in the lobby all this week during morning break and lunch. The cost is $1 for one guess! Finally, would the 4 students going to the School Reach Nationals meet Mrs. Burry in her office for a quick check-in right after announcements.
Star Wars Trivia - May the 4th be with you! Star Wars Trivia is happening in Mr. Roche's room at lunchtime starting at 12:15. Make a team with a maximum of 5 people to participate.
Spring Volleyball - the boys will have their final practice tonight from 6:30-8 PM.
Table Tennis Tournament - the finals will take place in the gym on Wednesday at lunchtime.
Disc Golf - the disc golf team will practice on Wednesday after school from 3-4:15. Anyone who couldn't make it last week or never got to sign up yet are still able to join!
