Week Two - Wednesday, May 1

Daily Reminders – A reminder to students that cell phones are to be put in cellphone holders in classes. 
No food containers outside. Everyone worked hard last week to clean up the school property, we’d like to keep it looking good.

Addams Family Tickets – There are a few Addams family tickets left and will be on sale at morning break in the foyer for $10 cash.

Caribou Math Contest – The last final Caribou Math Contest this year will be taking place on Thursday, May 2.  Sign-up sheets are posted outside of Mrs. Reynard’s room.  Make sure you sign up and secure your spot!

Yearbook – The grade 7 and 9 members of the yearbook will meet today after school in the library. The session ends at 4h30. 

Softball – There will be a girls softball tryout tomorrow at Mulberry Field from 3:15-4:30. Please listen to the announcements throughout the day as a final decision will be made as per the weather. 

Intramurals – Grade 7/9 in the gym today at lunchtime.  Grade 8/9 on Thursday.  For the month of May at lunchtime, we will be going with 7/9 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 8/9 on Tuesday and Thursday.

Flag Football – Grade 9 girls and boys flag teams have a quick meeting in the gym at morning break to get permission forms.  

Band – Jazz Band is cancelled after school today.
Grade 9 Early morning band on Thursday is cancelled.

Gauss Math – Practice for the Gauss Math competition for Grade 7 students will take place this morning first period and for Grade 8s first period tomorrow morning. Today is the last practice.

Reach for the Top Club will go ahead tomorrow at noon. All Grade 7s and 8s are encouraged to attend. Hopefully, we will have an update about provincials by then.

Junior Achievement – Grade 7 and 8 students will receive workshops tomorrow during periods one and 2 and learn all about money and how to budget for those things you want in life! Teachers and specialists are asked to check their emails from Ms. Burry and Ms. MacKinnon as this will affect periods 1 and two classes tomorrow. 

Heritage Fair – Stonepark sent 8 Tigers to this year’s Provincial Heritage Fair yesterday. Students represented Stonepark in fine style and enjoyed a day of history workshops, learning and a whole lot of fun. Congratulations to Emily Lupish who won two special prizes for her project on Africville - one from the Black Cultural Society and one from PEI Human Rights! Congratulations to all!

Table Tennis Tournament – The Stonepark Table Tennis Tournament will continue today at lunch with the second half of the round robin. All players who are signed up are asked to be in the Wellness room by 12:05 at the latest.

Disc Golf Club – The first Disc Golf session will happen tomorrow after school from 3-4:30. We will practice once a week before heading to real courses in June. Please sign up down by the gym if you are interested in giving disc golf a try!

Student Council – There will be a meeting in Mr. Roche’s room tomorrow (Thursday) at noon, and lunch will be provided.  

Freezie Sales – Starting today, Student Council will be selling jumbo freezies out of the Foods lab every day at morning break for $2 to fundraise for end of year activities. If you buy a freezie, it must be finished before heading to second period, so make sure you get there to buy yours early!

Fry Truck Fundraiser – Tomorrow (Thursday) at lunchtime, the Cavendish Farms Fry Truck will be here and Student Council will be selling fries for $3 each. Make sure you bring some cash to school tomorrow to buy some delicious, crispy fries tomorrow at lunch in support of our Student Council.

International Segment – The Philippines has some delicious and unique delicacies that you should try! Filipinos are known for their creativity in the kitchen whipping up unique dishes enjoyed by many across the globe.
