Daily Reminders – A reminder to students that cell phones are to be put in cellphone holders in classes. 

Summer Job Opportunity – Any students interested in becoming a Counsellor in training at Oak Acres Camp this Summer can see Earl Campbell for more information. 

Resume Help – Any students who need help with resume writing can see Earl Campbell for help.

Caribou Math Contest – The last final Caribou Math Contest this year will be taking place on Thursday, May 2.  Sign-up sheets are posted outside of Mrs. Reynard’s room.  Make sure you sign up and secure your spot!

Heritage Fair – All students needing a ride to the Heritage Fair should meet with all materials in the lobby immediately.  

Reach for the Top – The provincial play-off tournament scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances – it will be rescheduled for next week. 

The Report It! campaign began in October 2023 in all PSB schools.  The Report It! campaign encourages students to report an incident if they need support (bullying, theft, discrimination, etc.) and to report in a way that is most comfortable for them (to someone at school, at home, to a community partner or online). The PSB are surveying administrators, staff, parents and students (grades 7-12) to gather feedback to evaluate the campaign. This short survey will be emailed to everyone today, Monday, April 29 and will be open for two weeks.

Book Inventory – Teachers need to enter their textbook counts immediately on the Google Sheets that was sent out to you (several times now) – please do this after morning announcements.

Choir – Choir practice today after school in the band room. Please make every effort to attend.  

Yearbook – The grade 7 and 9 members of the yearbook will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, May 1, after school in the library. The session ends at 4h30. 

Softball – There will be a girls softball tryout on Thursday this week from 3:15-4:30 at Mulberry Field. 

Flag Football
•    Grade 9 boys will practice in the gym today from 3:00 – 5:00 
•    Grade 9 girls follow from 5:00 – 6:30. Girls have a meeting in the gym at morning break for shirt sizes and numbers. Please bring your cell phone with you to the meeting if you have one.  
•    Grade 8 girls will practice today from 3:00 to 4:45 in the bowl.
•    Grade 7 girls meeting in the gym at morning break today.  
•    Grade 7 boys list will be up at morning break. 

Track and Field – will start Wednesday after school in the bowl from 3:00 to 3:45. All runners welcome! Dress appropriately for the weather.

Gauss Math – Gauss math practice for grade 8 students will be Thursday Period 1 in the cafeteria.

Cavendish Fry Truck Fundraiser – The Grade 8 Band will be selling Cavendish french fries during noontime on Monday, May 13 for $3.00 per order. Cash only sales. The money raised will go toward their 2025 Band Trip.

International Segment – Today in our International Segment we will talk about the Puerto Princesa (Port Princess) Subterranean River National Park in The Philippines.
Recognized as one of the New7Wonders of Nature and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this subterranean marvel offers a glimpse into the intricate beauty and ecological significance of the Philippines' natural landscapes.
•    Carved out of limestone by the forces of nature, this subterranean river stretches for over 8 kilometers, making it one of the longest navigable underground rivers in the world.
•    Beyond its natural beauty, the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River holds immense ecological significance. The surrounding national park is a haven for biodiversity, home to a wealth of flora and fauna found within its dense forests and pristine waters.
